In 2008, Alireza Amini directed the successful film Seven Minutes to Autumn and won the honorary diploma of the best director from the 28th Fajr Film Festival. The End of 8th Street was banned in 2009 and after two years it was released in Nowruz 2011, while several sequences of the film were censored.

His other film, Block 9, Exit 2, also faced difficulties in obtaining a screening license, but after 4 years of ban, in 2016, he was able to get the opinion of the members of the Screening License Council and received its screening license by accepting the age rating.
