The story is about a worker’s town whose residents are all working in a factory and under the manager’s teachings, they are used to double effort and contentment in life and building with a paycheck.

Shislik is Mohammad Hossein Mahdovian’s first experience in the comedy genre, and all his previous works, including Standing in the Dust, Lotari and Walnut Tree, were all made in the genre of drama or holy defense;

This Film is a black comedy with a detailed script and good performances. By working on the scenario of Amir Mehdi Juleh, Mahdovian wanted to show the audience a new story with streaks of humor and a melodrama tone;

 

After participating in the 39th Fajr Film Festival, this film was nominated for 4 Crystal Simorgh awards for the best supporting actor with Pejman Jamshidi, the best sound recording and the best facial treatment.

Shishlik is a very dark comedy with a detailed script and good performances. Radical and “virtual-space-friendly” slogans should not and cannot be expected from such a film, and from any film.
